Dr. Johnson's Error: Rhyme
EXCERPT: Dr. Samuel Johnson introduced the form "rhyme" into English in the 18th century, mistakenly thinking that the term was a Greek derivative of "rythmos." Thus, "rhyme" is an etymological error.
